Erin Morice is a Collection Development Librarian with Halifax Public Libraries in Nova Scotia. Her experience includes selecting print and digital material for babies, kids, teens, and adults, and she is active in promoting the library’s collection. The year 2020 proved that listing ‘adaptable’ on her resume was no longer an empty descriptor. Erin had to quickly adapt her selection and promotion practices to respond to the close-reopen-close cycle, to the increase in demand for digital material, and to a community rediscovering their public collection. She will share her thoughts on how this renewed relationship with the public has rejuvenated her work, what opportunities have arisen as a result of it, and how she now feels prepared for just about anything.
